They love the community and aim to be a positive part of it and give back. It’s simple and accountable. They appreciate the opportunity, every day, to do what they love.
Bull City Running Co. has been recognized as the best running store in Durham and one of the Top 50 Running Stores in America.
We aren't in the business of selling stuff, but selling a way of life – one that makes us as individuals and as a community more physically and mentally fit. More connected. To achieve this culture of connection, we take the time to relate and communicate in careful ways, always striving to advance our mission as a company: “building a community of runners and walkers by creating a fun, informative, and inspiring place for people to pursue their fitness goals.”
Bull City Running Co is also host to Kids Run Durham -- a 5-week, fun-focused, children’s running program. Offered in the spring and fall for ages 4-12, Kids Run Durham introduces kids to running in a safe, encouraging environment to try out distances from 100 meters to 1 mile. With personalized bibs, kids are cheered on by name and get an official time every Sunday afternoon during the series, which takes place at a local park.
Each session is kicked off with a quick lesson to teach participants the basics of stretching, pacing, nutrition, hydration, and sportsmanship before they run around the park and into a finishing shoot lined with high fives from parents and other participants. In addition to getting kids outside to play and giving younger children a “real” running experience, Kids Run Durham helps instill a love and excitement for running as a life-long sport.
