Since Homage was founded in 2007, the Columbus, Ohio based company has been creating vintage-inspired lifestyle apparel that turns back the clock to highlight unique traditions, eclectic moments, and colorful personalities in sports, pop culture, and collegiate history. Rooted in great storytelling and inspired by the celebratory feeling you get after finding the perfect vintage t-shirt in a thrift store, the team at Homage saw a need in the marketplace that wasn’t being addressed: authentic, vintage-inspired and buttery-soft lifestyle apparel that went beyond distressing logos.
So when the team here at Saucony reached out to collaborate on Great American Running Shops -- it felt like a no-brainer. "We love the idea of Saucony’s campaign and paying homage to these local institutions," says Elliott May, Director of Business Development and Licensing for Homage. "For us, it all comes down to authenticity and history, two qualities synonymous with Saucony."
Every one of us over here grew up with at least one pair of Saucony’s. And we all love the rich history and tradition behind Saucony. It is very authentically rooted in the running space with lots of great stories to draw from, be it the Shadow shoe silhouette or someone associated with the brand like 1983 NYC Marathon champion, Rod Dixon. There's certainly a lot of passion and humor and relentlessness and emotion in that, and those are the sort of stories we try to bring to life through our apparel.
