Fleet Feet Mt. Pleasant was born in March 2013, as the 100th Fleet Feet store in the country.  Owners, Chris and Amy Minkel, were living in Winston-Salem, NC and new to the running industry, when they decided to try their hand in a passion they both share, running.  After much success in Mount Pleasant, the duo decided to open a second location 30 minutes north in Summerville, SC (Home of Sweet Tea).

We're genuinely interested in our customers and making them feel like they are the most important person we spend time with that day. Each employee strives to make an inclusive, warm, welcoming environment and the runner will feel it from the minute they walk in the door.

Since both of the store doors have opened, the atmosphere is as southern as they come.  From the southern drawl of most of the staff to their southern hospitality, you are immediately welcomed into the Fleet Feet family.  What was once a 10 person "fun run" when it first began 3 years ago, has turned into a 100 person party twice a month.  Every other week, when the group runs, the theme changes and there has never been 2 runs that have been the same.  The theme every week ranges from A "Poker Run" to "Paper Airplane run" and everything in between with a holiday season finale that includes Santa, the Grinch, S’mores and a hot chocolate bar.

Not only do they help older runners Find their Strong, they are also a HUGE advocate for younger runners and making sure they live an active lifestyle at a young age. In fact, anyone who wants to be healthy and active is welcomed with open arms and listening ears to find exactly what they need. Both Chris and Amy make it their responsibility to give back to the community every chance they get and it shows as their customer base increases on a daily basis.  This store is a one of a kind, genuinely kind and fun store that tourists need to check out when they are in the area! After all, they are only a mile away from THE Cooper River bridge and the main reason they were named Top 50 Running Stores in the US!
