The Rochester duo of David “Boots” and Ellen Boutillier married in February 2003 and opened their first Rochester-area Fleet Feet Sports store in July 2004 in Brighton, NY. Boots and Ellen got the itch to open a second location across town in Greece in November, 2011. In 2014 as business continued to grow it was evident that the initial Brighton location would not be enough space, so on their 11th wedding Anniversary in February 2014, Boots and Ellen moved Fleet Feet Sports Rochester to a 9,000 square foot location at the Culver Road Armory in the City of Rochester. Not done growing yet, Boots and Ellen also added another store by purchasing Fleet Feet Sports - Buffalo in Buffalo, NY in November 2014. In addition to this, Boots and Ellen also own an event production company called YellowJacket Racing, which was founded by Boots in 1998. So today, with three stores, one event company, one dog and two cats, the Boutillier’s just love helping people get fit.

“Fleet Feet Sports Rochester is unique in that not only are there two stores, each with its own personality, but having YellowJacket Racing in-house helps produce the largest races in the Rochester region,” says owner Ellen Boutillier. “Coupled with their events company, YellowJacket Racing, Fleet Feet Sports Rochester facilitates in producing more than 40 events throughout the year from trail races, duathlons, half and full marathons, distance trail events and everything in between.”

Over 1,500 participants per year partake in the various programs. The Fleet Feet Sports race team is also very entrenched in the community, doing charity activities and volunteering at many of the local races.
