Performance Running Outfitters

Run Big, Shop Small

  • 2205 N. Calhoun Rd, Brookfield, WI 53005, (262)-784-7989

Trey and Jess opened Performance Running Outfitters in 2006 in Brookfield, WI to fulfill a void in the Milwaukee running community.  When they first came up with the idea of opening they encountered many road blocks from banks not giving them support,to their initial location laughing at the idea of a running store (blessing in disguise).  Since then they have expended to Oconomowoc, Shorewood, and most recently Oak Creek.  They initially only planed on one location, but they love what they do and wanted to continue growing the running community  and make a difference in people’s lives.  Their store is more than shoes; It’s about building relationships, helping people on their journey at whatever point that is – walking, running, coming back from an injury, recovering from cancer, trying to prevent future health issues.  They want to help connect their community to build positive healthy relationships and have a place their customers can get guidance in making healthy choices.

" I don’t necessarily think our store is unique, but our people are.  Trae and I have a desire to constantly grow and be the best.  It would be easy to settle in after 10 years and two kids, but it’s just not in us.  The staff we have is the same.  They’re driven, they work hard and they all have a desire to be the best version of themselves."

Performance Running Outfitters offers a free slow-motion video analysis for all customers when they’re shopping for shoes or if they just want help with their running form.  All of the staff is trained to be able to do this in addition to their in-depth product knowledge.  They have a full-time coach on staff that teaches running classes.  They offer weekly fun runs, sponsored theme runs, form classes, various clinics and sponsor local runners on their store race team in addition to supporting the local running and triathlon clubs.  They also support over 100 local races through different types of sponsorship's.  They support the local cross country and track teams with team shopping nights, fundraising efforts and they donate 10% of sales to the programs that sign up.
