We are proud to introduce the next step in the Saucony Originals product line, the Shadow 5000 EVR. As a brand with a rich history in running, we aimed to create a modern day classic. Taking elements of design from the original Shadow 5000, we've constructed a sneaker that will keep you comfortable throughout the hustle of the day.
When sitting down to concept the Shadow 5000 EVR we looked to our DNA as a brand. At the core of Saucony, we stand with running. The sport we have been dedicated to forever. Since 1898 we have remained loyal to the sport. We don’t switch lanes like some other sporting brands. The Saucony team has remained dedicated to creating the best running footwear on the market since the inception of our brand. We used this knowledge as inspiration to project how we imagine seeing our product history a decade from now. The Saucony Originals product archive consists of retro running silhouettes, shoes that were at the pinnacle of running in their time. In 2028 what would Saucony Originals be proud of as a legacy model?
Today our top tier running silhouette is the Freedom ISO. Utilizing a full length EVERUN midsole & an EVERUN topsole, you get the perfect balance of com-fort and responsiveness for your ride. To evolve the Freedom ISO into a present day Originals model we chose the Shadow 5000 for it’s design language. We constructed a knit upper that mimics the paneling and lines of the Shadow 5000 upper. We used the Freedom ISO’s iconic full length EVERUN midsole as a tooling and the rest is history.
To kick things off we are paying homage to the Solebox Shadow Original "PinkDevil” from 2012. The Shadow 5000 EVR "Pink Devil" will be available Globally on January 26th for $150 USD. Follow @SauconyOriginals on Instagram, @SauconyOrigs on Twitter for more information.
